Winter at Hot Springs State Park

Warm Up in Thermopolis During Your Winter Break

Thermopolis, a scenic retreat town in central Wyoming, is the ideal place to warm up during your winter vacation. Not only is Thermopolis home to the stunning Wind River Canyon and popular Wyoming Dinosaur Center, the city is known for hosting the world-famous Hot Springs State Park.

Test the 135-degree waters at the Hot Springs State Park – known as the world’s largest mineral hot springs – set in northeastern Thermopolis. As Wyoming’s first state park, Hot Springs State Park has grown into quite the hotspot. Hot Springs State Park features paved walking trails, and an aerial view of the Big Horn River from the park’s Swinging Bridge, and the State Bath House – free to the public and open throughout the year.

Visitors to the Hot Springs State Park may walk along the beautiful and natural Rainbow Terrace on paved trails before heading to the State Bath House for a soak in the “healing waters” of central Wyoming. Choose from indoor and outdoor pools at the State Bath House – where 18,000 gallons of spring water is pumped in every day, and maintained at a comfortable 104 degrees.
