Visiting Wyoming

As the leaves change and prepare to make their descent, fall visitors find the Cowboy State full of life. It’s the perfect time for a fall foliage driving tour and communities from Lusk and Wheatland to Thermopolis and Pinedale provide plenty of attractions to experience along the way. Special events, festivals, outdoor activities, and more – Wyoming has it all this season.

For sports fans in Laramie, fall means one thing: University of Wyoming football. The Cowboys got off to a rough start, but look to turn the season around as they defend home field at War Memorial Stadium. Check the schedule to catch the hard-hitting action – the Cowboys’ season goes through November 28th, when they make their last stand against the visiting UNLV Rebels.

Cheyenne visitors can hop on the historic Cheyenne Street Railway Trolley for a frighteningly fun ride through the city, October 23rd through 30th. The 21st Annual Trolley Ghost Tours explore the most mysterious parts of the city while guides regale guests with haunting tales along the way. The tour embarks at 6 p.m., and young and old can come in costume.

Soon after, communities throughout Wyoming begin to hum with holiday cheer. The 2015 Christmas Parade makes its way through the streets of downtown Cheyenne on November 28th. Beginning on Capitol Avenue at 5:30 p.m., the parade promises over 100 beautifully decorated floats, horse drawn carriages, live music, classic cars, performers, and more.

Sheridan visitors get into the spirit with the 2015 Annual Christmas Stroll on November 27th. Walk through the streets of downtown Sheridan, where holiday lights, decorations, shopping, trolley rides, music, food, and more make for a merry way to start the holiday season.

There’s no place to celebrate the holidays quite like the Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Cody. The 2015 Buffalo Bill Center of the Center Holiday Open House invites families in with decorations, dancing, homemade treats, and even a chance for little ones to whisper their Christmas wish into the ear of Santa Claus himself.
