Visiting Wyoming

Wyoming is an open landscape of pleasant towns and cities, historic attractions, and can’t-miss outdoor recreation destinations. This fall and into the early winter, Wyoming will be bustling with a sterling list of events, festivals, concerts, and more, all helping to make your next stay supremely memorable.

Geometry specialists will note how Wyoming is essentially one enormous rectangle, similar to its neighbor to the south, Colorado. This can make navigating within Wyoming super simple – in the southwest corner, Evanston and Kemmerer are extra inviting this fall, while Cheyenne, out in the southeast corner, delivers its own brand of fun and spectacle during autumn.

Transport yourself and the whole family back to a time of yore in Cheyenne. On September 10th, Lions Park will be hosting their annual Shakesfaire Cheyenne starting at 11 a.m. This free event will feature a variety of shows and performances, with plenty of of-the-era food vendors, kid’s games, and more.

In October, Cheyenne will be hosting one of the premier and most-anticipated concert events of the season. Head over to the Cheyenne Civic Center on October 7th for a chance to see The Lennon Sisters live on stage. This trio will hit the high notes and belt out some of their hits – all starting at 7 p.m. You’ll want to make the drive in from nearby Wheatland or Laramie.

Only a few days later the same Cheyenne Civic Center will host one of the true icons and legends in music – Jackson Browne. On October 11th starting at 8 p.m., be sure to check out An Evening with Jackson Browne when he’ll treat the crowd to songs from his latest album, Standing in The Breach, and plenty of classic hits.

More centrally located in Wyoming, Cody will be a must-visit this fall. You’ll want to explore the Shoshone National Forest for excellent hikes, and the Buffalo Bill Center of the West is historic and edifying.

On September 11th, be sure you make the short drive into nearby Powell from Cody for their annual Homesteader Days Festival. You’ll see demonstrations by vintage tractors and trucks, a farmer’s market, live music, and plenty for the kids. The drive in to Cody from nearby Thermopolis is quick.
